Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is widely praised for her pioneering the science of eyewitness memory in children and using child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and has been honored with numerous international and national prizes. She has consulted with various governments and agencies across the world on policies and research on children's victimization within the court system. She also serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center), of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of several professional organizations, such as the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman belongs to Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member and International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, as well as three Divisions: Children and Families Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
